Bern

  1. Bears

  4. Train to Barcelona

The second day in Bern was not a big one. All we did really was go and see some bears and explore the old town. But I'll tell you.

Bears

Bern is known for its bears. They're big " gullumphy " creatures that kind of laze around all day. Keeping that note we decided we would go and see them. Although that's kind of the reason of we came here, to see the bears. When we got to the enclosure I was really excited. There was only one bear walking around and one swimming but I didn't mind. When we were walking down the steps to the enclosure I saw little white specks floating downwards. Could it be snow? No, it was way too hot for that. I asked Zoe what they were. She replied “they're just flowers” . That's quite weird I thought. They were spring blossoms falling from the trees.

Old town

After the Bears we walked down to the old town. Seeing as we were all hungry, we walked down to buy lunch from Mingos takeaway bar. I got a juicy, succulent, delicious, tasty, amazing, miraculous, delightful, wonderful, fantastic and perfectly cooked pork rib. We all walked down to the local park to eat. There was an amazing view of the river in front of the hillside villages outside Bern. Zoe and I, after we'd had lunch, went to go play on the giant chess board. A boy was just packing away the game so we waited for him to finish. Then we played chess. About half way through the the game the boy who was cleaning ups mother said “ Do you mind if my son plays with you?”. “ Sure ” we said. So I moved out he way and the boy stepped in. He and Zoe had a close game. Although Zoe won we were all still very impressed with the boy who's name turned out to be Benjamin.
