After the Ring of Kerry we drove to an area of Ireland called Connemara.
At first entering our guest house, this was our first sight. A beautiful driveway. At seeing this we knew that we were going to have a lovely stay there. We still don't understand how we became psychics. Well we might not be though. Maybe we just guessed right. But any way that's not the point. The point is, we had the best time ever there.
This is the front of the extremely lovely, posh guest house where we had a great time. This is the history of the house. The person who owns the house's great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather ran a mining company nearby. Thier most common products were copper and zink. The owner of the mine liked fishing and mining, so a house on the lake would be perfect. So he built the family house. But the mining industry had problems so eventually the had to shut down the mine and think about how he could make some money a different way. Today the family house has become the guest house we stayed in
That was the the room where afternoon tea was served. They had a little tray with small cups of tea and some plates with a wide selection of cakes and biscuits. If you look behind the door there is also a lot of very old books.
This was the view from Mum and Dad's room.
That tiger below also has a very interesting story. The hotel owner's great, great uncle was an Indian policeman. There was a tiger terrorising the city. So he shot the tiger and gave it to his brother, the hotel owner's great, great grandfather and he hung it up in the guest house.
They have two pets there. A cat named Smartie…
And a dog named....MILLY !
They live right by the river so its very relaxing.
You can also hire boats there.
While we were there we made a fire to boil the kettle.
When we drove around dingle we saw.....
And finally home again.
